  • Remarks: Elder Rich led one of the first groups of Mormon pioneers west from Illinois under the leadership of Brigham Young after Joseph Smith’s murder.  He was also a member of the Council of Fifty.  In 1863, Elder Rich led a party of early Latter-day Saints to colonize parts of southeastern Idaho.
