SEVENTY — Quorums of the Seventy


QUESTION: Two of our current or recent General Authority Seventies were called to serve as general authorities when they were less than 40 years of age.  Can you name these two brethren?
ANSWER: The two current or recent General Authority Seventies who were called as general authorities before their 40th birthday are Elders Gene R. Cook (called to the First Council of Seventy in 1975 at age 34) and Elder Yoshihiko Kikuchi (called to the First Quorum of Seventy in 1977 at age 36).

QUESTION: On October 3, 1975 President Kimball made the historic announcement that the First Quorum of Seventy was going to be organized and gradually filled.  On that day, three brethren were called to serve in this new quorum and capacity. Can you name these three brethren?
ANSWER: The three brethren originally called to serve in the First Quorum of Seventy were Elders Charles Didier, William R. Bradford, and George P. Lee.
