Mission Conference, Sunday, June 2, 2019, the theme was the Book of Mormon
1/ President and Sister Moon, district president and wife
- Why is the Church growing? Because the Book of Mormon is true! Quote from President Nelson.
- The Book of Mormon convinces people that Jesus is the Christ.
- The Book of Mormon is not a history book, a novel, a self-help book.
- It is a compilation of testimonies of Jesus Christ, with the ultimate testimony being the description of His visit to the Americas.
- Those who know nothing of Jesus will come to know Him through the Book of Mormon.
- Another main purpose of the Book of Mormon is to gather Israel.
- It contains the plan of salvation, the doctrine of Christ. All missionary work is grounded in the doctrine of Christ.
- Another main purpose is to help us attain peace in this life.
- Read the Book of Mormon every day of your mission.
- It is the main instrument by which Israel will be gathered.
2/ Sister Rahlf
- She recounted the story of the king in Ghana who told President Nelson that the Book of Mormon is worth more than gold and rubies, and that he would bring his whole tribe with him if he were to join the Church.
- How precious is the Book of Mormon to you? If you had to choose between diamonds and the Book of Mormon, which would you choose?
- What would my life be like without the Book of Mormon? What wouldn’t I know if I didn’t have the Book of Mormon? What wouldn’t I have if I didn’t have the Book of Mormon?

3/ President Rahlf
- The Book of Mormon is our keystone.
- Joseph had to ask Emma if there was a wall around Jerusalem.
- If the Book of Mormon is true, Joseph was a prophet. If the Book of Mormon is true, Jesus is our Savior.
- How does the Book of Mormon testify of Christ? 2 Nephi 25:26, 2 Nephi 32:3, 3 Nephi 11:10-11
- If the Book of Mormon is true, the Atonement is real, the plan of happiness is God’s way, and God speaks to prophets.
- If Joseph was a prophet, the priesthood has been restored, we have modern-day prophets, and the Church of Jesus Christ is true.
- Any question or criticism of the Church can be brought right back to the question of the validity of the Book of Mormon.
4/ Sister LeSueur
- The Book of Mormon leads to eternal life.
- Ezekiel 37:15-17 talks about the stick of Judah and the stick of Joseph. One in mine hand.
- The Book of Mormon is the springboard to testimony and revelation.
- Four years elapsed from First Vision to receiving of the plates in order for Joseph to mature spiritually
- You have a gift to translate. D&C 5:4.
- David O. McKay’s father, while serving a mission in Scotland, faced great opposition. He decided to not mention Joseph Smith nor the Book of Mormon, and just preach from the Bible. A feeling of despair, gloom, and darkness enveloped him. He heard a voice say, “Bear witness of Joseph Smith.” Joy and light returned to his work.
4/ President LeSueur
- Through the Book of Mormon we can find peace.
- The Book of Mormon wars affected everyone.
- Your converts will be missionaries on both sides of the veil.
- The greatest earthly or heavenly work we can do is to proclaim the Gospel to the world.
