STIMULATOR message for the week of January 16, 1973

Starting with the January 1, 1973 edition of the Stimulator, President Sant no longer included a Mission President’s message

Notes from the field:

“We set our goal to teach three families this week and the Lord helped us reach that goal.  We set our goal to get 20 hours teaching and the Lord helped us get 20 hours teaching.  I know that setting goals then working with all our might really works.  We had to work extra hard this week to reach these goals.  It really feels good when you set a goal just high enough to reach for, and with added effort, and then reach that goal and see yourself improve.  I love my area.  I love challenges.  I love to do things that seem impossible.  Elder Jewkes is such a strength to me.  He is obedient and a hard worker.”  Elder Bowen

” ‘How great shall be your joy if you shall bring but one soul into the kingdom of my Father.’  Today I was able to get a glimpse of how true this statement is and what the true definition of joy is.  Elder Fawcett and I were privileged to baptize today and it was truly a spiritual experience.  I know, as Elder Wilson told me, when we reach our standards and live the commandments in our rule book that the Lord will bless us.  This is a wonderful principle.”  Elder Jenkins.
