STIMULATOR message for the week of January 23, 1973

Starting with the January 1, 1973 edition of the Stimulator, President Sant no longer included a Mission President’s message

Special notice to all missionaries:  In President Sant’s message of December 26th in the Stimulator, he mentioned that in our personal interviews during the February round of Zone Conferences, he wants to discuss with each of us the personal goals we have set for 1973.  If you have not already done so, set your individual goals for 1973 and be prepared to discuss them with President Sant in your zone conference interview.  Thank you.  “Set a goal, and you will never fail….”

Notes from the field:

“What an experience to see the Lord’s hands in our work here in Timaru.  We have worked hard and prayed for this day!  I have never felt such a joy as I have this week when _____ stood in the waters of baptism, waiting to be baptized.  It is great to feel so close to my Heavenly Father and my companion.”  Elder Flitton.

” What a week!  What a way to start off a mission.  It is so important that we set goals.  We set goals for last week and worked hard, and thought of baptizing, and the result was that we doubled the goals we had set.  This is the effect of thinking of baptisms.  It is very effective to have an exciting companionship, where both companions have the desire to work and baptize.  You must also have a loving companionship where you forget about the worldly things and think of the Lord.  The end result of this is baptism.  It works because we have proved it.”  Elder Phillips.
