LeGrand Richards proposes to his future bride
Elder LeGrand Richards proposed to his future bride in a very unique, but heart-warming way.
LeGrand Richards, future apostle of the Lord, was deeply in love with his future wife, and he prepared to ask her to marry him. He purchased an engagement ring and arranged for a romantic setting. When all arrangements were in place and the setting was right and appropriate, he knelt in front of her, took her hands in his, and lovingly asked, “Sweetheart, would you be willing to be the number two person in my life?” Surprised and taken aback, she responded, “I thought you were going to ask me to marry you!” He quickly replied, “I just did! There will always be one person who comes before you, that being the Lord, but you have my promise and solemn vow that you will always be number two in my life.” She did consent to being number two, and Elder Richards was always true to the promises he made during his proposal of marriage.
