        4. Received, embraced, ACTED!

    1. Left Galilee and traveled 100 miles to be baptized – WHY?
    2. Why John the Baptist?
    3. “I have need to be baptized of thee…” – WHY and WHAT?
    4. Why the River Jordan? Mode…
    5. “Suffer it to be so now, for thus it behooveth US …” – Why us?
    6. “…fulfill all righteousness…” – HOW? (2 Nephi 31:5-10)
    7. “…came up straitway out of the water…” — immersion

  2. Study Doctrine and Covenants 20:37 to discover the Lord’s qualifications for baptism. Make a list and be prepared to share with the group.
  3. Characteristics of those who truly receive the Holy Ghost
    •  
    Experience a mighty change of heart (King Benjamin’s people)
    •  Rebellious nature is gone, only desire to do God’s will
    •  Share the joy and the message with others
    •  Filled with the pure love of Christ (service, turned outward)
    •  Find a Book of Mormon scripture that supports these characteristics
