- Your mission president might ask you to share a Book of Mormon scripture that has ‘changed your life’ (see page 120 of Preach My Gospel). What scripture would you share with him?
Internal evidences of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon
- An ‘internal evidence’ is a phrase, word, insight, or manner of speaking contained in the Book of Mormon that shows or evidences its Hebraic, Semitic, or Middle Eastern origin.
- Can you identify a scripture or passage of scripture in the Book of Mormon that ‘proves’ that the Book is translated scripture, and not a product of Joseph Smith himself?
- You might consider 1 Nephi 2:6, 2:7, 2:10, 3:2, 3:3, 3:9-10 and 15-16, 4:20, or 5:20.
Imperfections in the Book of Mormon?
- In Mormon 9:31-32, Mormon states that there might be ‘imperfections’ in the Book of Mormon, and he asks his future readers not to condemn him for their presence in the Book. Are there ‘imperfections’ in the Book of Mormon?
- If so, what sweet realizations should come into our souls because of their presence?
- You might consider Alma 24:19 or Helaman 3:33
