Charity and love — Missionary Training Center presentation
Charity and love — Missionary Training Center — Sacrament meeting talk (#2), basic outline
- WHAT:
- Christ is our ultimate example of charity and the pure love of Christ.
- He that is possessed of the pure love of Christ shall be “filled”, not just a taste or a nibble – FILLED!
- This type of love ‘defined’ who Christ was
- His three year mission was 100% devoted to service others
- HOW:
- He was our Example, the personification of charity
- Always turned outwards, never putting his wants or needs first
- Every thought, every effort, every action was for others
- He that will lose his life will find it
- First love God and then love your neighbors
- WHO:
- He sought the lost, the least, the last
- He mingled with the sick, the lepers, the beggars, tax collectors, fishermen, Roman soldiers
- His service was not determined by power or wealth or fame or influence
- He viewed EVERY soul as one with divine potential
- The worth of a soul is great in the sight of the Lord, bring save it be one soul unto me
- EXAMPLE:
- Consider this two day sequence of events in Christ’s life, and then consider our own efforts

- Immediately healed a leper
- Healed the centurion’s servant without ever seeing him
- Healed Peter’s mother in law
- Healed many, including those possessed with evil spirits
- Calmed the winds and the waves
- Cast devils out of two who lived in the cemetery
