The Sacrament — remission of sin as we partake worthily of the Sacrament
Elder Kevin W. Pearson
In a priesthood training session held in November of 2021, Elder Kevin W. Pearson, Area President of the Utah South Area, made the following statement:
“The covenants we make with God come with divine promises. Keeping them helps us to be clean and worthy of spiritual gifts and spiritual power. Worthily partaking of the Sacrament each week is an example of this. We witness to God that we are willing to take upon us the name of Jesus Christ, to always remember Him, and to keep His commandments. In return, we receive a remission of our sins and become clean. We are promised that we may always have His spirit to be with us.”
Elder Pearson also shared the goals that the Area Presidency has for all of us in 2022:
- Make and keep sacred covenants
- Become a true disciple of Christ
- Help to grow the Church by gathering Israel on both sides of the veil
- Strengthen the rising generation
